April 2009

Once again it has been about a month since my last post. Maybe I should just plan on posting once a month... Sounds like a plan to me. =)

I am back from the Dominican Republic, I actually got back March 28th. It was a great trip and such a good experience. I would go back in a heart beat if I could. The children there were amazing. So full of life and just being kids. They didn't have all the luxuries that children in the States have, but were full of life and energy. I wish that everyone would have the opportunity to go to another country to see how they live and get by on so little. The first school we went to had very little money, but were the healthiest people we saw. They didn't have the high blood pressure, runny noses, coughs.... so on and so on that we saw when we went to the other 2 schools. These people came to us because they wanted the vitamins and tylenol. They were very thankful and polite to us. Did I say that I loved the children?!? =) The two other schools we went to were a little better off financially, but health wise they had more problems. Of course there were the select few who really didn't need the free care, but hey there are people like that everywhere. I feel we did a great job down there and the people we treated are going to have a better life because of it.

I will post some pictures soon of the trip.

Now, this month, actually this FRIDAY (April 10th) I will be heading to San Antonio, TX to start Nursing School! I will be in TX for 2 months and then back up to WA for the remaining 10 months of school.

March 2009

It has been about a month since the last post and figured it is time do do some up-dating. I will be going to the Dominican Republic in 2 days. I will be there for 2 weeks with the Army giving free medical care to the locals. I am very excited to finally go somewhere with the military. I also found out that I got into NURSING SCHOOL! =) When I get back from the Dominican Republic, I will be home for a little less than 2 weeks and then to Texas for 2 months. This will be the longest Josh and I have been apart, since we started dating back in 2006... =( I just wanted to give a quick update, and I will definitely post some pictures when I get back from my trips.

My 25 Random Facts: BTW I had a Great Valentine's Day with my Hunny. ♥

1. I was an only child until I was 18 when I met my Half Sister who is 3 years older than me.

2. I joined the Army Reserves January 27, 2003. I was a Junior in High School. I graduated Basic Training the summer before my Senior year of H.S.

3. My favorite color is Pink!

4. I love going to the book store and buying new books, but I rarely finish them. I have about 5 books that I have started to read, but yet to finish.

5. When I was younger, I was told by a foot doctor that I had perfect feet for Ballet, but the shoes tickled my feet. I did Ballet for about 6 month when I was 9 and then my teacher moved, and my Mom didn't want to drive that far for lessons...

6. I am so excited to be a mommy, but I want to wait until I am older and have a great career.

7. My dog's name is Stryker, but it has nothing to do with the military... Josh just liked the name.

8. When I get married I want to have my dress made just for me, I have had a drawing of it since I was 18. It is my Dream Dress.

9. I have my own Craft Room in our house, but I have only made one skirt for an 80's party with my sewing machine. I really should get some of my scrapbooking done.

10. I have been on TV a few times, when I was little I was on Charlie & The Rascals (I think that is what it was called...) and I have been on Northwest Afternoon a few times for the Miss Washington USA Pageant.

11. I have competed in pageants since I was a Freshman in H.S. and went to California for Nationals. I have held the Titles of Miss Pierce County, Miss Tacoma USA, Miss Greater Tacoma, Miss American Starlet Teen Washington, and Miss American Starlet Washington.

12. I do dishes when I am upset, It is some-what calming. I also do them when I have nothing else to do. =)

13. I really like working out, but I seem to always find something else to do instead.

14. My Grandma and I are very similar, we might argue sometimes, but I think that we understand eachother more than anyone else.

15. Josh is the best thing that has ever happend to me. I love him so MUCH!!!

16. I cry like a baby during movies, last night we watched The Notebook and I was sobbing for 30 minutes.

17. I analize everything. I think so much about what I could have, should have, would have done, and how different things could be. I wonder why things happen the way they do, and why other people make the desicions they do... I just think to much and stress myself out. I am getting better with this though, Josh tells me all the time that I can't change people and I need to just let things go.

18. I have really great friends. I am so thankful for the ones who are still in my life.

19. My favorite food is Macoroni and Cheese. I just love it!

20. I enjoy taking pictures, as well as being in them. I did some modeling for awhile and loved it.

21. My cat KoCo is just like me, She has a very loving side and a very fiesty side.

22. I could spend hours looking up quotes on-line, they just make me happy.

23. I use Google multiple times everyday.

24. Fun fact about me, my left foot is bigger than my right foot; I told my Uncles this and they will never let me live it down. Note to self: Never tell Uncles anything you don't want the whole world to know. =)

25. I have a great Family. They have always been here for me, even when the person who should be here for me the most wasn't. My Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents (including Josh's), Cousins and Nephews are just the BEST!

HappyValentine's Day!

Hello, It has been awhile since I have written a blog, so what better time then now... I am at work on Valentine's Day and not feeling too hot. I over slept this morning- beat my own personal record in time that it takes me to get ready. =) I woke up around 7:55Am and was out of the house by8:09Am. (This includes taking an extremely fast shower, getting dressed, putting gel in my hair and putting it in an adorable messy bun (LOL), grabbing my make-up bag and running out the door.) Pretty impressive I might say so myself, but it's not the ideal way to start out Valentine's Day.
I made it to work 25 minutes late, (clear from any speeding tickets... of course I didn't speed to work...) thank goodness it was a slow morning. So, hopefully now that I have had my adrenaline rush for the day, the rest will be relaxing. I have a few things planned for tonight, but I don’t know if I will actually follow through because I haven’t been feeling to well. I woke up at 2Am coughing with a sore throat and I took some medicine to go back to sleep. It worked but then caused me to over sleep.
Well, work has been pretty slow so far today. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing.

For tonight, I think that Josh and I are just going to stay at home. I bought strawberries and we can dip them in chocolate and maybe share a nice bottle of champagne.

I hope that everyone has a lovely Valentine’s Day!

Pictures With my Mom.

My Mom and I went and had pictures taken while she was here for her stay during Christmas time. It was really fun and we used to get pictures done together at least once a year when I was younger. ♥

The Snow is FINALLY gone and Life is back to Normal.

It is now 2009 and this is my first blog of the New Year. I am so Thankful that the Holidays are over and everything went so smoothly. Christmas day was wonderful. Josh's Grandparents came over bright and early in the morning to help me cook and get everything prepared for Christmas Dinner. My Aunt Vita, Uncle Neal, Grandma & Grandpa Stansbury, and Josh's Dad & Rachael were all unable to make it because of the snow (Uncle Neal wasn't feeling too well, so he and Vita stayed home) covering the ground and all of the ice. Other than not having everyone with us Christmas turned out really well. We all had dinner around one big table- this is the first time this has happened in FOREVER! We opened gifts and spent quality time together. Josh once again won the poker game- making Adam not so happy. Haha =) It actually came down to Josh and myself, which is quite surprising because I am not very good at poker- especially that whole 'poker face' thing. Anyways, next topic: New Years Eve was pretty un-eventful this year. I hadn't been feeling well and cancled my plans to go to Seattle. I ended up stopping by Andrew's house for a little bit and then went to the Police Station with some sparkling cider because Josh was working. I was in bed by 12:30. Lame, I know. My Mom was in town until the 3rd of January. We went shopping one day and had our pictures taken at JC Penny's (we used to do this all of the time when I was younger). She had an early flight on Saturday and then life started to go back to normal. I started work on Monday the 5th after having quite a few days off. Needless to say, that was a rough day at work... I guess that is about it for now on the updates, nothing too exciting has happened. I hope all of you had a great Holiday season and are enjoying this rainy month of January. =)
